# The Luw\.ai ecosystem

How Luw\.ai Studio ties into your Luw\.ai account, your credit balance and the other Luw\.ai apps, which AI tools it has, where their results are kept, and how to work on a project from Claude.

Luw\.ai Studio is one of several Luw\.ai apps, and it behaves like one. You sign in with the same account you use on luw\.ai and app.luw\.ai, you spend from the same credit balance, and work can travel between the Studio and the other apps, including AI apps such as Claude. This page is the map. Each feature has its own page with the step-by-step details.

## One account

The Studio has no separate login. Click **Sign in** in the top bar, sign in on app.luw\.ai, and you land back in the Studio. If you already have a Luw\.ai account, you're done.

Your account is where things are kept: your projects with their chats and galleries, the 3D models Luw\.ai has made for you and the textures you've generated. Sign in on another computer and they're all there.

Signed out, the Studio runs in demo mode. The top bar shows an amber **Demo mode — sign in to save & render with AI** button. You can explore the editor, but nothing is saved and every AI feature asks you to sign in first.

Plans, billing and account settings are managed on app.luw\.ai. See [Account and sign-in](/luw.ai-studio/account/account-and-sign-in.md).

## One credit balance

Credits aren't split between apps. A credit you spend in the Studio is gone from your balance on app.luw\.ai too, and the other way round.

* **The badge in the top bar** is your balance. Hover over it to see how many credits remain. It turns red once you're below 5 and refreshes by itself as you work.
* **To get more**, click the badge. Your account page on app.luw\.ai opens in a new tab.
* **Daily free credits** can be claimed on [app.luw.ai](https://app.luw.ai/dashboard/claim).

### Two engines: Symphony and Aria

Whenever Luw\.ai generates something for you, you can choose the engine. **Symphony** is the default and gives the higher quality. **Aria** is the lighter one: it costs less for 3D models and videos, and the same for renders and textures. The Create forms show an **Engine** field, and Archiagent shows both prices on the step it's asking you to approve.

## Your project gallery

Each project has a **Gallery**, a view next to 3D and 2D in the view bar. Everything the project makes collects there: AI renders, 3D models, textures, videos and, when you're signed in, snapshots. It's stored with the project, so it's the same wherever you open it.

Filter by kind, star the ones you like, and open any item to download it. A 3D model can be added to the scene from there, a texture painted with, and a render or snapshot used as the project's cover. More on the [Render with AI](/luw.ai-studio/luw.ai-ai-tools/render-with-ai.md) page.

## Scan a room with the iPhone app

Luw\.ai also makes an iOS app, **Luw AI - Home Design App**, that scans a room while you walk around it with your phone. In the Studio, the **Scan your room** tile in the **Build** tab (and **Scan with AI** in the floor plan picker) opens a short introduction titled **Luw Floorplan AI is Ready!**. Its **Get started** button goes to the App Store, and a QR code lets you open the same page on your phone.

[Luw AI - Home Design App on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/luw-ai-ai-home-design/id6448645866)

{% hint style="info" %}
A scan doesn't arrive in the Studio by itself. When you have it as a file, bring it in yourself from **Build** → **Floor plan**: a `.glb` or `.gltf` scan goes in through **Upload scan/floorplan**, and a floor plan picture or PDF through **Detect with AI**. See [Import](/luw.ai-studio/import-and-export/import.md).
{% endhint %}

## Open work from another app

Another Luw\.ai app can send you to the Studio with something attached: a picture, a PDF, a 3D model, a prompt, or a file plus a prompt. Following such a link never starts a paid run on its own. Here is what happens:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Sign in

If you're signed out, you sign in with your Luw\.ai account first and return to the link afterwards.

If the link was made for a different Luw\.ai account than the one you're using, **Switch accounts?** asks what to do. **Switch account** signs this browser out of your account and closes the project you have open. **Stay signed in** keeps your account, and whatever the link brings opens there instead.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Let the Studio prepare the file

A small notice in the bottom-left corner shows what's going on. A PDF is turned into a picture of its first page.

A 3D model opens in **Frame your 3D model** first. Rotate, pan and zoom until the model sits the way you want Archiagent to see it, pick a background colour if you like, then click **Use this shot**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check the request

**Start this with AI?** explains that it opens a new project and sends the prompt to Archiagent.ai. It shows the picture Archiagent will look at and the prompt, which you can edit as much as you like. When the link brought a file but no prompt, it starts as "Apply this as floorplan".
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Send it or cancel

Click **Send**, or press `Ctrl/Cmd + Enter` in the prompt box. The Studio opens a brand-new project (named after the file when there is one), so the project you had open stays untouched, and Archiagent starts on your prompt.

**Cancel** charges nothing and creates no project.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Links can only bring files stored on Luw\.ai. If a link points anywhere else, the Studio stops with "That link points to a file outside Luw\.ai, so Studio didn't open it."
{% endhint %}

## Work on your projects from Claude

Luw\.ai Studio can be connected to Claude, so you can ask Claude to build and change your Studio projects. Claude's edits are saved to the project, and if the project is open in the Studio, you watch them arrive.

Open the **Help** menu (the question mark in the top bar) or your account menu and choose **Use in Claude**.

<figure><img src="https://1629954275-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3c2lKXqxOtmrzgrQQpGP%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-8b572d42b6e9111f81d7692209824a9aeecac9f8%2Fuse-in-claude.webp?alt=media" alt="The Use Luw.ai Studio in Claude dialog with the tabs Claude, ChatGPT (Soon) and Other apps, and three steps: open Claude&#x27;s connector settings, add a custom connector named Luw.ai Studio with the address https://mcp.luw.ai/studio and a Copy button, then press Connect, sign in to Luw.ai and allow access"><figcaption><p>Three steps in Claude, and the address to paste.</p></figcaption></figure>

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Claude's connector settings

On the **Claude** tab, click **Open Claude**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the connector

Add a custom connector named **Luw\.ai Studio** with the address `https://mcp.luw.ai/studio`. **Copy** puts the address on your clipboard.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect

Press **Connect** in Claude, sign in to Luw\.ai and allow access.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Then ask Claude, for example "Add a kitchen island to my Luw\.ai Studio project." The connection signs in with your Luw\.ai account, and you can remove its access at any time from the link at the bottom of the dialog.

* **ChatGPT** is marked **Soon**. On a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin can already add the same address.
* **Other apps** has **Add to Cursor**, **Install in VS Code**, a command to copy for Claude Code, and the address for any app that supports MCP.

If you were editing the same project in the Studio when an edit from Claude came in, a banner asks which version to keep: **Load its version** takes the edit from Claude, **Keep mine** keeps yours. Saving waits until you've chosen.

## What costs credits

| What you do                        | Symphony                  | Aria                      |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------- | ------------------------- |
| Render the 3D view                 | 1 per design (4K: 2)      | 1 per design (4K: 2)      |
| Make a 3D model from a photo       | 8                         | 3                         |
| Make a 3D model from a description | 1 for the picture, plus 8 | 1 for the picture, plus 3 |
| Generate an AI texture             | 1                         | 1                         |
| Make a video from a picture        | 20                        | 10                        |

On top of these:

* **Chatting with Archiagent** is charged by use and needs a paid plan. The [Thinking level](/luw.ai-studio/luw.ai-ai-tools/archiagent.md#choose-how-hard-it-thinks) shows how much a message tends to use. Features that hand your file to Archiagent, such as **Detect with AI** or setting up your plot from a land document, count as chat.
* **Voice mode** costs 1.6 credits a minute, on top of the work it asks for.
* A render finished on app.luw\.ai, through the hand-off from walkthrough mode or **More options in Luw\.ai Render AI**, is charged there.

Drawing, furnishing from the catalog, painting with library materials, taking screenshots and snapshots, uploading your own files, and importing or exporting projects don't use credits.
