# The image menu

The wand-icon menu on an uploaded photo, for quick edits with Magic Wand, opening the photo in another tool, deleting it or replacing it.

Once a photo is uploaded, a small wand icon sits in its top-right corner. This page explains the four items in the menu it opens.

| Item           | What it does                                                   |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Magic Wand** | Edits part of the photo in a pop-up, without leaving the tool. |
| **Open with…** | Opens the photo in Luw\.ai Studio or in another tool. |
| **Delete** | Removes the photo straight away. |
| **Settings** | Reopens the upload window. |

The menu belongs to the main photo. The small extra image slots don't have one.

## Edit the photo with Magic Wand

Use this to remove or change one thing in the photo before you generate, for example taking a chair out of a room you're about to redesign.

1. Choose **Magic Wand**. A pop-up opens with your photo.
2. Paint over the part you want to change. A small toolbar in the pop-up has brush shapes (circle, square and lasso), an eraser, the brush size (− and +), undo, redo and a button that clears your marks.
3. Click the text box under the photo. Two buttons appear:
   * **Remove Objects** removes what you painted.
   * Or type what should appear there and click **Generate Image with AI**.
4. Wait for the edit. The result shows as a before/after slider.
5. Click **Save** to replace your photo with the edited one, or **Cancel** to go back. Cancel keeps your marks and your text, so you can adjust them and try again.

If you click a button without painting anything first, the message "Draw Over Canvas" appears. You can also press `Ctrl+Enter` (`Cmd+Enter` on a Mac) in the text box instead of clicking **Generate Image with AI**.

Each try is charged like a Magic Wand AI design. For automatic object selection, materials and more settings, use the full tool: see [Magic Wand AI](/luw.ai-app-docs/edit-images/magic-wand-ai.md) and [Selecting an area](/luw.ai-app-docs/working-with-images/selecting-an-area.md).

## Open the photo in another tool

**Open with…** lists **Studio** and every tool except Floor Planner.

* Choose **Studio** to open the photo in Luw\.ai Studio in a new tab. See [Luw.ai Studio](/luw.ai-app-docs/connect/luw-ai-studio.md).
* Choose a tool to open the photo there. A loading screen with the tool's name appears, and the tool opens with your photo in a new persona.

<figure><img src="https://1930792265-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F4yESzclcaZeSiIDZ8eIa%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-04c0114cda90f62b8c7e77edea5d26d86a0c7fe2%2Fopen-with-loader.webp?alt=media" alt="A dark loading screen with the Interior icon and name, the line Transforming architectural visions into reality and a progress bar"><figcaption><p>The loading screen you see while the photo opens in another tool</p></figcaption></figure>

Since the photo opens in a new persona, the persona you came from keeps its own photo and results. See [Personas and history](/luw.ai-app-docs/getting-started/personas.md).

## Delete the photo

**Delete** removes the photo from the tool.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Delete** in this menu doesn't ask you to confirm. The photo is removed as soon as you click it, so you'd have to upload it again to get it back.
{% endhint %}

If you'd rather have a confirmation step, use **Settings** and then **Delete** in the upload window, which does ask.

## Replace the photo

**Settings** reopens the upload window with your current photo. From there you can upload a different file, pick one of the examples, or delete the photo. See [Uploading images](/luw.ai-app-docs/working-with-images/uploading-images.md).
