# Personas and history

Personas are workspaces inside each tool that keep your photos and results together. Here's how to switch, rename, delete and create them.

A persona is a workspace inside one tool: it keeps the photos you upload there and the results you make from them. This page explains how personas work and how to manage them.

## How personas work

* **Each tool has its own personas.** The personas you use in Interior don't appear in Exterior, and the other way round.
* **Results belong to a persona.** **Latest Designs** shows only the current persona's results. If a design seems to be missing, it's probably in another persona.
* **Names are made up for you.** New personas get generated names such as "Rapid Interior AI" or "Serene Exterior AI". You can rename them.
* **The current persona is always on show.** Its name appears as a badge on the **History & Change Persona** bar at the top of the settings.

The panel puts it in one line: "Personas organize your work and learn from it".

## Open the persona panel

Click **History & Change Persona** at the top of the settings. The panel replaces the settings column:

* **Back** returns to the settings.
* The current persona's name, with a pencil to rename it and a bin to delete it.
* **Change Persona**, with **+ New Persona** beside it.
* A **Search** box.
* The list of this tool's personas. Each row shows a thumbnail, the name, the number of photos and results, and the date it was created. The current one has an **Active** badge.

## Switch to another persona

1. Click **History & Change Persona**.
2. Click a row in the list.

The tool switches to that persona, with its photo and its results in **Latest Designs**. The list loads more personas as you scroll. To find one by name, type in **Search** and press Enter.

## Rename a persona

1. In the persona panel, click the pencil next to the name.
2. Type the new name in the box that appears.
3. Click the save icon next to the box.

A clear name, such as the client or the room, makes a persona easy to find later.

## Delete a persona

Click the bin next to the persona's name. Luw\.ai asks you to confirm before it deletes anything.

## Start a new persona

Click **+ New Persona**. Luw\.ai creates a fresh persona for this tool and switches to it, so you can start on a new photo without mixing it in with your earlier results.

## Personas made by Open with…

When you send an image to a tool with **Open with…**, from the menu on a photo or from the result viewer, Luw\.ai creates a **new persona** in that tool with the image already loaded. A loading screen with the tool's name appears while it does. The same happens when you drop an image onto a tool card on the Dashboard or onto a tool in the All Tools list.

Your original persona and its results stay as they were. If you later want to find what you made in the second tool, open its persona panel and pick the persona that was created when you opened the image; the creation date on each row helps.
